FoodDrinkEurope’s latest Data & Trends report has just been published, including key figures and insights on the food and drink industry’s economic performance, which is the largest manufacturing industry in the EU.
This year’s edition of the Data & Trends report includes new pages on the Single Market, the EU27-UK trade relations in light of Brexit and innovation activities. It provides as well an outlook on world markets and a ranking of the top-50 food and drink companies.
This report has been one of FoodDrinkEurope’s most successful and long-standing publications and presents, in a visually-engaging way, our industry’s key contribution to Europe's economy: 4.24 million employees throughout the EU, over €1 trillion turnover and a positive trade balance of €30 billion. In half of the Member States, the food and drink industry is the biggest employer in manufacturing. 99% of food and drink companies are Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). They generate almost 50% of the food and drink industry turnover and value added, and provide more than 60% of the employment of the sector.
